Today, all teams successfully encountered schools of scalloped hammerhead sharks!
A light northeast wind was blowing, but conditions were still good enough for two solid dives.
The weather was cloudy, and it felt quite chilly during the surface interval, so warm clothing is highly recommended.
Underwater conditions were excellent for the first time in a while.
We were lucky enough to see schools of 40–50 hammerheads on both dives, giving us that powerful, truly “Mikomoto-style” experience.
The current was strong again today with a fast incoming tide, creating classic drift-diving conditions.
Water temperature ranged from 18°C to 21°C, with cold and warm layers mixing throughout the dive.
Visibility was clear and blue around 20 meters deep, while the shallow areas were slightly milky.
Today, we also welcomed a diving shop team from Taiwan on their company trip!
They only had one day of diving at Mikomoto, so we’re very glad they got to see the schools of hammerheads.
The dynamic Mikomoto conditions seem to be continuing!
Unfortunately, we will be closed tomorrow due to strong wind, but let’s look forward to the day after tomorrow!
