It was a chilly morning here in Minami-Izu, but the day turned into a beautiful autumn day with clear skies and pleasant sunshine!

With the approaching typhoon, we were a little concerned about the sea conditions. The surface was quite choppy, but we were able to operate our boat trips without any major problems.

For everyone’s safety, we restricted our diving areas today, but we were still able to enjoy some great dives!

There was a slight swell underwater, but nothing too significant.

Now, let’s talk about today’s ocean conditions!

It was a classic Mikomoto day, with the ocean changing dramatically from dive to dive!

On the first dive, visibility was excellent, reaching over 15 meters! We were surrounded by beautiful blue water.

However, during the second dive, visibility suddenly dropped…

Then, by the third dive, the blue water was back again!

All of this happened within just a few hours. That’s the unpredictable nature of Mikomoto!

The current was relatively weak in the morning, but things were quite complicated.

The direction of the current changed depending on the depth, and even varied from one location to another.

Was it an incoming tide? An outgoing tide?

Honestly, it was difficult to tell!

And what about the hammerhead sharks?

We spotted individual hammerheads and small groups here and there throughout the day.

Even better, several teams managed to encounter large schools of hammerheads!!

Despite the restricted diving areas and constantly changing conditions, the hammerheads were still out there waiting for us!

Every dive at Mikomoto brings a completely different experience.

And that’s exactly why we never get tired of diving here!

We’ll continue to keep a close eye on the typhoon and sea conditions, always putting safety first.

What kind of ocean will tomorrow bring?

We can’t wait to find out!

Stay tuned for another adventure at Mikomoto!
