What an incredible morning at Mikomoto!
We were also joined by underwater photographer Kirin-san today!
Thanks to his incredible skills behind the camera, he captured some truly stunning images of the hammerheads and the amazing conditions we experienced. A huge thank you to Kirin-san for sharing these fantastic shots with us!
The water temperature has risen to 22°C, bringing more of that summer feeling to the ocean. During the first dive, visibility was beautifully blue and clear, although there was some plankton and suspended matter in the shallower areas. Even so, hammerheads were everywhere, appearing from all directions throughout the dive.
On the second dive, the incoming tide started to build. As we entered from the up-current side and made our way along the reef, an unforgettable sight appeared before us.
A massive school of hammerhead sharks.
Dozens upon dozens of hammerheads cruised effortlessly through the blue, creating one of those magical Mikomoto moments that never gets old. The sheer size of the school and the constant stream of sharks left everyone in awe.
The afternoon was a private charter with a dive shop from Indonesia!
We hit the jackpot on both dives, encountering massive schools of hammerhead sharks each time. What an incredible way to wrap up their final day at Mikomoto.
A perfect ending, filled with smiles, excitement, and unforgettable memories. Safe travels, and we hope to see you again soon!
With water temperatures continuing to rise and hammerhead sightings getting better and better, the season is looking very promising.
Thank you to everyone who joined us today. We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!
