It was a cloudy day today with weather typical of Japan’s rainy season.
The first dive started with a gentle outgoing current, which gradually picked up in strength as the dive went on.
Visibility was still affected by the recent rain, giving the water a slightly milky blue appearance. Even so, we were still able to find schools of scalloped hammerhead sharks. Once the visibility improves, we expect to see even more impressive numbers! Unfortunately, there were no thresher sharks today.
We also enjoyed large schools of grunt and several copper sharks, making for another dive full of marine life. The ocean is clearly full of potential, even under less-than-ideal visibility.
As soon as the water clears up, Mikomoto is only going to get better. We’re excited to see what tomorrow has in store!
