Today we finally headed out to Mikomoto after a short closure!
The weather was hot and humid with clear skies. In the morning, some swells were still lingering, and the current was a bit tricky — outgoing near the surface, while the incoming tide remained below.

Water temperature was around 24°C, so it felt comfortable, but visibility was quite poor at about 5 meters.
Even so, we were able to spot a school of hammerheads! 👏✨

On top of that, massive schools of grunts (Isaki) and yellowstriped scad (Takabe) filled the reef, making up for the lack of visibility with overwhelming fish density. It was a true Mikomoto experience, just in a different way compared to the clear blue days.

We’ll keep our fingers crossed for improving conditions, but the hammerhead and schooling fish season is definitely still on!
