Hello.

We’ve been having unusually calm seas for May, so today we headed out to the open water for three dives.

There was a fairly strong northeast wind blowing from early this morning, but with no specific area restrictions, we started at the Kame-ne area.

Since we spotted a rare school of hammerhead sharks at Point A during our first dive yesterday, we went back to Point A for our first dive today, expecting the outgoing tide to be strong—but we came up empty-handed.

The current kept changing throughout the second dive and beyond, so we adjusted our dive sites accordingly each time, but in the end, we were swept away by a cold, 16°C incoming tide and finished the day without seeing any hammerheads.

Even though it was an incoming tide, it’s nice that the encounter rate with migratory fish goes up when the current picks up a bit, but more than anything, I just hope the water clarity improves.

I wonder what kind of sea awaits us tomorrow!
