Today at Mikomoto started with strong northeasterly winds and slightly challenging conditions.

For the first dive, we prioritized safety and limited the diving area.

Fortunately, the waves gradually calmed down, and from the second dive onward, the restrictions were lifted and we were able to dive around Mikomoto as usual.

However, during the morning dives, the hammerheads were nowhere to be found…

“Where are they today!?”

Then, in the afternoon, the situation finally changed!

As the incoming tide started to flow, hammerhead sharks appeared!

Once again, Mikomoto showed us just how quickly the underwater atmosphere can change when the current starts moving.

Overall, the water had a slightly pale blue appearance rather than being perfectly clear and deep blue. There were still some colder patches in certain areas, but both the water temperature and overall conditions seem to be gradually stabilizing.

Since the typhoon passed, the ocean conditions around Mikomoto have been changing day by day.

Seeing the incoming tide and the hammerhead school this afternoon gives us hope that things will continue to improve from here!

What will tomorrow bring?

Fingers crossed for blue water and an even bigger school of hammerheads!
